Depending on what kind of watch you're looking for, you can choose between a variety of wristbands. The wristband usually dictates how casual or formal the watch is. The split between gold and silver is about 50/50 when it comes to fancier wrist bands that ladies like. Some women prefer gold and that's all they'll ever wear. Others are allergic to silver and cannot wear it. When this happens, many women opt to wear white gold watches instead. Gold seems to be a more traditional style where as silver or silver tones are more contemporary.

Gold is usually a little more formal but can also be out of fashion in some people's opinions. Many women are allergic to silver but like the look. They can opt for white gold and be safe from allergies or try platinum. However, platinum is very expensive and very difficult to keep clean.

Of course with the constant change in fashion trends, come new ladies watches, too. Oversized watches had their place in the sun for a while but things seemed to have come back down to normal. Oval, circular and rectangular watches have all come and gone, in and out of fashion. The great thing with ladies watches and any other fashion accessory is that if you hold on to it long enough, it will come back into fashion.
