A ‘certified’ diamond is one that comes with a diamond grading report. The report will detail the qualities of the diamond, which can’t be determined using the naked eye, and it’s really the only way to be sure of the value of your engagement ring. Make sure to get one from an independent lab – most people recommend GIA – so that you know it’s unbiased. For such a huge purchase, it’s really important to know what you’re buying, and a diamond grading report is a good way to be sure.
